North Carolina Brain Cancer Radiation Treatments: One Survivor’s Experience

A new YouTube video features Miguel Crawford of North Carolina TN, who has survived not one, but two benign brain tumors. He was treated by Erlanger Health System’s Oncology and Radiation Therapy teams.

He describes undergoing North Carolina brain cancer radiation treatments while unable to speak to Erlanger’s compassionate and dedicated team of radiation oncologists, oncology nurses, nurse navigators, radiation therapists, and others who work to help patients and their families navigate the challenges of cancer.

“I received absolutely awesome care from the radiation techs and the nurses,” he says. “Everyone was so patient. Dr. Gullett was absolutely awesome. I can’t say anything but good things about her.”

Dr. Gullett has experience treating brain tumors with proton therapy as well as stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) using both the Cyberknife™, Gamma Knife™, as well as linear accelerators.

Miguel’s video shows the moment he triumphantly rang the bell, signifying the completion of his cancer treatment journey with us. He uses sports metaphors to describe his fight against cancer, saying, “I attacked it like it was football and knocked it out of the park like it was baseball.”
