I recently attended the Society for Integrative Oncology’s 15th International Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. Workshops and oral abstracts highlighted the latest clinical, research, and methodological issues, and offered participants the opportunity to experience integrative modalities.
The keynote sessions covered nutrition and cancer and non-pharmacological approaches to cancer pain. Conference attendees include physicians, nurses, researchers, acupuncturists, nutritionists and other scientific healthcare disciplines, students, and patient advocates interested in scientific advances and evidence-based complementary therapies for oncology practice.
My goal is to offer patients not only chemo, radiation, and surgery, but the best supportive care with nutrition, acupuncture, and massage therapy.
